The Windsor Knight¹s youth football teams kicked off the fall
season last weekend at North Sacramento. The following are the
results as submitted by coaches.
Midget Knights 29, No. Sacramento Pacers 0
The Knights opened the football season in dominant fashion, with
a 29-0 romp over North Sacramento. Leading ground gainers for
Windsor included running backs Jon Marks (9-104 yards, 3 TDs), Sam
Atoe (7-74 yards) and Evaristo Contreras (6-34 yards, TD). DJ King
and Joseph Ramirez each added touchdowns for Windsor. The offensive
line was anchored by Ruben Huerta, John McGriff, Jimmy Martin, with
Khiry Brewer doing a fine job on special teams.
Defensively, the Knights were led by Jordan Shatnawi (two
sacks), Chris Farias (forced fumble. Solid games were also turned
in by Carlos Gonzales, Trevor Doherty and Lorenzo Camarena.
Sacramento 18, Pee Wee Knights 0
Sacramento¹s defense played tough and held the Knights to 150
yards in total offense.
The defense played tough most of the day, unfortunately giving
up some big plays. Even in losses there are always players that
step up and play their hearts out. Thomas Robles, Joe Moore and
Blayne Salazar played downs on both sides of the ball.
Look for them to build on their performance Sunday and help lead
the others back into winning form.
