Jr. Pee Wee Bulldogs 28, Phantoms 0
The Bulldog Pee Wees entertained the crowd with great offense
and awesome defense in Santa Rosa`s House of Phantoms on Sunday.
Jay Thomas ran at will against the Phantoms scoring the first two
TDs, powering up the right side and later behind key blocks by
Scott Chavez and Julian Lopez. The Santa Rosa air-attack was a
futile effort with pass break-ups by Tanner Cristando, Austin
Turbeville and Mikey Zeiger. An interception by Zeiger with a
40-yard run-back set up a blast up the middle by QB Jared Walker
for six more points to put this game out of reach.
The Phantom`s running game was further spooked by the brick wall
of Kristopher Mancini, Jared Beth, Kyle Nipper and Jesus Castro
with Oliver Lipton giving heavy pressure from the outside. They
gained six yards on four carries against these tough Dawgs. Fumble
recoveries by Renato Mandujano and Julian Lopez helped keep their
offense on the sideline.
A nice kick-off return by Andrew Corona put the Dawgs in good
field position to work their offensive magic with a TD by Dylan
Bigham on a reverse with key blocking by Jared Beth, Conor McKay
and Jared Walker. The fourth quarter featured smooth ball handling
at QB by Nicholas Verity and pounding running by Colby Meier for a
salt-in-the-wound TD.
