The Analy Tigers made the most of a trying month of October with outstanding play on the tennis court, completing an unbeaten Sonoma County League season to repeat as team champions.
It was the seventh league pennant in the past 19 seasons under veteran coach Rick Passero.
The Tigers followed up the team title with a great showing at the SCL Singles and Doubles championships held on the Santa Rosa Junior College campus on Oct. 26-27, as the doubles tandem of Sophie Kersosky and Ava Whitehorn navigated a perfect bracket to capture the doubles crown.
Kerosky-Whitehorn scored first and second round wins over El Molino’s Jordan Rodgers-Kendra Foster (6-2, 6-0) and Christi-McMinn of Healdsburg (6-0, 6-0).
The tandem went on to defeat Petaluma’s Manzand-Symons (6-4, 6-2) in the semifinals before beating Healdsburg’s Garcia-Botello in the finals (6-1, 6-3).
