West County runners enjoyed an outstanding day on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the North Coast Section Cross-Country Championships, with Analy and El Molino competing in Division 4 and 5 races respectively.  
The meet featured 10 races contested in five divisions on the classic 3-mile Hayward High School course, the final qualifier for athletes with California Interscholastic Federation aspirations.
El Molino (16th overall) had a good showing in the Division 5 races, with Jake Chauvin (85th, 18:04) leading the way for the varsity boys. Also competing for the Lions were Eric Riordan (86th, 18:08), Jackson Conger (113th, 18:54), Mael Chevrolet (127th, 19:12), Gabe Wallace (145th, 19:48), Quinn Ingrassia (148th, 19:54) and Grant Fiege (150th, 19:57). 
Competing in Division 4, the Analy boys (18th overall) were led by Alec Dierke (28th, 16:50), Jimmy Carreras (89th, 18:19), Jack Reynolds (107th, 18:47), Clayton Christensen (121st, 19:05) and Clayton Nelson (128th, 19:21). 
The El Molino girls did not field a complete scoring team but turned in good performances by Evelin Ramirez (66th, 21:26), Jackie Ramirez (82nd, 21:59) and Emma Parks (153rd, 26:07).
The Analy girls finished 14th as a team and were led by Grace Moussa (45th, 21:03), Amy Melman (61st, 21:57), Claire Nelson (67th, 22:12), Kennedy Parish (81st, 22:44), Aquielle Nelson (104th, 23:58), Chloe Parish (111th, 24:25) and Juliet Capriola (128th, 25:31).
