It’s been a great start to the high school badminton season for the Analy Tigers, recording five wins in the first six matches to move into title contention.
Veteran coach Nancy Williams is back to guide a relatively young squad, mindful that her team is not there yet but is making great strides as the season progresses.
“It’s a rebuilding year, with our strength being in the women’s players this season,” Williams reported. “Typically we’ve been more experienced with the men’s roster, but not the case this year, having graduated about 25 in the last two years.”
Top returnees for the varsity boys are Evan Baker, Richard Harsano, Kristian Schoen and Sean Stanley. Returning to the mix for the girls are Emely Rico-Garcia, Iris Chan, Alice Donovan and Carol Lopez.
Bolstering a strong girls squad are first-year varsity players Vivi Vigil and Arnold Nunez.
The complete badminton roster (JV, varsity, exhibition players) also includes Aidan Adair, Hailey Allen, Clayton Assai, Amitiel Ashley-Haran, Danielle Bengs, Ryan Bishop, Alex Boudreaux, Kelsea Braga, Brady Brandt, Gillian Campbell, Kit Wan Chan, Diego Chavez, Morgan Dabel, Joshua Erickson, Alexander Fitch, Gavin Hartman, Daniel Judd, Trenton Koehler, Ben Lohrentz, Jacob Louvau, Laurynn Mallilay, Dylan McGill, Rory Meechan, Liam Moore, Mily Onofre, Naire Parnay-Fowles, Isabella Rangel, Julia Samol, Aidan Shea, Ian Shine, Ian Stanley, Grace Strom, Poppy Stuart, Stellarian Tapley, Nima Veravit, Nithad Veravit, Ryan Wade, Ren Zoshi and Abramson-Davis. .
