Analy opens tournament at #5 seeded Piner

Playoff fever is in the air this week for the Analy boys high school soccer team, as the Tigers take the field in the North Coast Section tournament.
Analy (11-7) was rewarded with the #12 seed in the 14-team Division 3 tourney following completion of a solid Sonoma County League campaign, opening up at #5 seeded Piner on Feb. 14 (after press time).
Should the Tigers win, they’ll meet the survivor of the #4 Rancho Cotate versus #13 Kennedy match in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Feb. 17 (time and location TBD).
The complete list of NCS Division 3 teams in seeding order is Miramonte, Bishop O’Dowd, Acalanes, Rancho Cotate, Piner, San Lorenzo, Terra Linda, Drake, Sonoma Valley, Pinole Valley, De Anza, Analy, Kennedy and Albany.
Analy wrapped up the SCL schedule on Feb. 8 against visiting league champion Sonoma Valley, falling to the Dragons in an overtime thriller, 2-1.   
Meanwhile,El Molino (0-14-1) wrapped up a challenging SCL campaign with a strong effort against Healdsburg on Feb. 6, coming up just short in a 2-1 loss.
