SOCCER VETERAN — Analy senior Jackson Tilden-Browe (#9) is one of 10 returning players to the varsity soccer team in the first season following league realignment.

It’s a new season and a different league for the Analy Tigers, set to take the field this month in the North Bay League Redwood Division.

The Tigers, under returning veteran coach Peter Meechan, will compete against the likes of El Molino, Cardinal Newman, Maria Carrillo, Piner and Ukiah.
Analy is coming off a strong season in the final year of Sonoma County League play, where the team landed a spot in the North Coast Section Division 3 playoffs before falling to Piner 4-3 in sudden death to finish the season at 11-8.
The Tigers return 10 seasoned players to this year’s squad, including Dante Amador, Tom Baty, Iain Douch, Sam Housman, Charles Janssen, Ethan Logan, Lucas Martin, Julian Munoz, Armando Parra and Jackson Tilden-Browe.
First-year varsity players will feature Brennan Blondin, Tristan Boussaid-Bergman, Hunter Cassatt, Josh Drake, Angel Gonzalez, Bryan Hernandez, Kelly Janssen, Zack Kleinfeld, Ben Neargarder, Ethan Price and Ian Shine.
Although the team will be in unfamiliar territory in a new league, Analy enters the season with the same high expectations.
“Our goal as always will be to make the playoffs, but with a large amount of young players, the learning curve will be steep,” Meechan said. “We’re excited about the new NBL, and it will allow us to play new schools.”
Analy will open the winter preseason campaign on Nov. 27 (after press time) at Campolindo and will host Petaluma this Thursday, Nov. 29 in a 7 p.m. start.
