LEAGUE HOPEFULS — El Molino’s Audrey Serrano and Analy’s Sierra Atkins (see photo below) will be out for a top six finish in their respective events at the NBL Track and Field Championships on May 1 and 3 at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa.

Local high school track and field athletes will be in hot pursuit of peak performance this week when they toe the starting line at the North Bay League Championships.
This year’s inaugural NBL meet, hosted by Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, will pit all 12 teams from both the NBL Oak and Redwood divisions. The meet schedule calls for NBL trials on Wednesday, May 1 and finals on Friday, May 3. The action on both days begins at 3 p.m.
The goal for most participating athletes will be a top six finish, good for advancement to the North Coast Section Redwood Empire Qualifier on May 11.  Additionally, the top six marks (that haven’t already qualified as a top six in league) will also advance to the NCS REQ.
Tigers capture title
Analy wrapped up its NBL dual meet season on April 24, as the Tigers secured the Redwood Division championship with a clean sweep over Ukiah. The varsity boys scored an 88-41 win over the Wildcats, while the girls easily won, 72-54.
Meanwhile, El Molino logged its final regular season meet on the NBL Oak Division schedule at Maria Carrillo. The Pumas defeated the Lions in the varsity boys competition, 88-37, while the Lady Lions fell to Carrillo, 95-33.
