District 35 tourneys underway this week for most teams
Local little leaguers will begin the final phase of the 2019 baseball campaign this month when they take the field in double elimination District 35 all star tournaments in Sonoma County.
The Sebastopol (SLL) and El Molino (EMLL) Little Leagues will be represented by a total of five teams in tourneys ranging from the 8-10 year-old division through Juniors.
The EMLL 8-10s open their District 35 tournament at the Healdsburg Elementary School Field of Dreams on Friday, June 28, against Petaluma National (5:30 p.m.), while the EMLL 10-12s kick off their tourney on June 28 at the Petaluma American diamond against Healdsburg at 6:30 p.m.
The SLL will have three all star teams competing in District 35 tournaments this year. The Sebastopol Intermediate 50/70 stars are already underway, having dropped a tough 6-5 decision to Petaluma National on June 16. At press time the SLL boys were hoping to stave off elimination on June 18 against Rincon Valley, with the winner taking on Petaluma National on June 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Mark West LL.
The defending District 35 SLL Junior all stars will kick off tourney action on Saturday, June 22, in a 2 p.m. start against Cloverdale at Laguna Park.  The SLL 9-11 stars will begin tourney action on Saturday, June 29, against Petaluma National at Santa Rosa American LL in an 11 a.m. clash.
Look for expanded all star coverage in the coming weeks.
