Analy's Lani Auva'a captured an individual title in the 100 Butterfly at the SCL Swimming Championships at SRJC on April 29.

It’s been a decade of excellence for the Analy swim team under veteran coach Lehla Irwin during her 14-year run guiding the team, a standard that has included multiple league titles and a yearly procession of qualifying athletes to the North Coast Section meet.
That dominance continued on Friday, April 29 at the Sonoma County League Championships hosted by Santa Rosa Junior College, an annual showcase for many of the top swimmers in the area.
The Analy girls claimed their sixth straight league crown with a team score of 510, followed by Sonoma Valley (451), El Molino (266), Healdsburg (229), Petaluma (215) and Piner (108).
Sonoma Valley was the top varsity boys team with 438 points, followed by Analy (374), Petaluma (228), Healdsburg (211), Piner (169) and  El Molino (142).
Leading the charge for the Lady Tigers were league titlists; Maria Alameida (1st place 100 backstroke, 57.55, 1st place 100 freestyle, 52.01), Lani Auva’a (1st place100 butterfly, 56.92, 2nd place 100 backstroke, 58.24), Sophie Boisseau (1st place 200 IM, 2:17.53), Christy Schlutius (1st place 50 freestyle, 26.04. 2nd place 100 butterfly, 1:04.38) and Grace Moussa (1st place 500 Freestyle (5:37.01). Mikayla Royer was second in both the 200 freestyle (2:10.73) and 100 breaststroke (1:16.98).
In addition, the Analy girls won titles in the 200 medley relay (1:51.29) and 200 freestyle relay (1:43.56).
Winning individual titles for the Analy boys were; Jack Murphy (1st place 200 IM, 1:56.34, 1st place 500 freestyle, 4:48.40) and Luke Ressler (1st place 200 freestyle, 2:00.80, 1st place 100 freestyle, 51.49). The Tigers took second in both the 200 medley relay (1:57.67) and 400 freestyle relay (3:30.71).
El Molino’s Benji Zeigler led the Lion’s boys squad with a first place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:00.37) and was second overall in the 200 freestyle (2:03.84).
Leading the way for the El Mo girls were Mariah Wong (2nd place 100 freestyle, 55.96, 2nd place 200 IM, 2:21.00), Noelle Terrero (3rd place 500 freestyle, 6:08.38, 4th place 200 freestyle, 2:20.24) and Macy Schondel (4th place 100 breaststroke, 1:19.04). The Lady Lions were third in the 200 medley relay (2:09.54) and took fourth in the 400 freestyle relay (4:12.87).
Although the rankings have yet to be determined, qualifying swimmers will now gear up for the NCS Championships in Concord on May 13-14.
