Veterans — Pictured above is Analy's Kaiya Ming and below, is El Mo's Sierra Fiddler are key veterans for their respective softball teams this season.

The Lady Tigers fell from the ranks of the Sonoma County League unbeaten on April 26, falling to arch-rival Petaluma in a rematch, 2-0.
The setback, coupled with a 20-0 romp over Sonoma Valley two days later, put Analy and Petaluma in a flat-footed tie for first place with a league mark of 8-1. Filling out the SCL standings were Sonoma Valley (5-3), Healdsburg (4-5), Piner (3-5), El Molino (2-6) and Elsie Allen (0-9).
At press time the Tigers (17-4) were preparing to close out the regular season with home games against Healdsburg (May 3), El Molino (May 10) and Piner (May 12). All games start at 4 p.m.
Tigers blanked
by Trojans
The much-anticipated second meeting between the Tigers and Trojans could not have been more different from the first, when the Tigers handed Petaluma a 12-3 drubbing on their home field.
This game was a tense pitcher’s duel, as Analy hurler Saja Spearman-Weaver (7 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, 3 Ks) locked horns with Petaluma ace Emily O’Keefe (7 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 7 Ks).
All the damage was done in the first, as the Trojans took advantage of an Analy miscue to push across two runs – all O’Keefe would need en route to a 2-0 win. Accounting for both of Analy’s hits were Payton Cords (1 for 2) and Carson Rasmussen (1 for 3).
The Tigers took their frustrations out on an unsuspecting host Sonoma Valley squad two days later, exploding for 20 runs in the first five frames on their way to a 20-0 rout in five innings. Spearman Weaver (5 IP, 3 hits, 6 Ks) earned the win, while top hitters were Kelsi Roman (3 for 4, 3 runs), Makeyla Kraemer (2 for 3, 2 runs), Cords (2 for 3, RBI), Kaiya Ming (2 for 3, 2 runs, 3 RBIs) and Mackenzie Evangelisti (2 for 2, 3B, 4 runs, 2 RBIs).
Lions fall to Dragons
El Molino had just one outing last week, playing host to Sonoma Valley on April 26. The Lions trailed just 3-2 after three before the Dragons busted it open with five runs in the fourth and another 10 in the fifth to force on their way to a 17-6, five-inning win.
Pitcher Ericka Olsen took the loss, while leading El Mo hitters were Sierra Fiddler (2 for 3, 2B, run, RBI), Lily Krauss (2 for 2, 2B, run, 2 RBIs), Risa Scott-Smith (1 for 2, run, RBI), Sydney Casey (1 for 2, run) and Lily Anderson (1 for 2).
El Mo will hit the road for games at Healdsburg (May 5) and Analy (May 10), before finishing the season at home on May 12 against Elsie Allen (4 p.m.).
