Over this past school year, El Molino High School was chosen as one of the two winners of the Redwood Empire Battle of the Fans (BOTF).
The contest was based on the positive culture at sporting events including positive sportsmanship and schools reaching out to one another to create a welcoming environment.
This recognition is well deserved as El Molino students show a huge amount of spirit and dedication to supporting their sports’ teams, fellow students as well as showing sportsmanship to their competitors.
Along with a growing student body of over 600 students, El Molino’s cheer squad is also developing with 15 students strong, the highest in over four years.
Although the squad has increased in numbers, their budget has not.
The cheering team is hoping to go to summer camp to learn about stunt safety, proper cheer form, dance routines, great team bonding and of course, spirit. Many of the students are low income and are hoping to raise as much money as possible so that all of the cheer students can attend camp no matter their socioeconomic status.
Their first deposit of $2,000 is due July 1, 2016 and they are looking for help to sponsor the team so they can get their squad to camp. Donate online at http://tiny.cc/elmocheer or call 707-824-8332 for more information.
