El Molino's Brian Schulz finished a close-up fourth in the 3,200 Meter finals at the NCS Meet of Champions in Berkeley on May 28.

The El Molino track team sent a small contingent of athletes to the elite North Coast Section Meet of Champions held at Edwards Stadium on the University of California campus in Berkeley on May 27-28, the last qualifier for the CIF State Championships.  
The two-day event consisted of preliminary races contested on Friday and the finals on Saturday.  The top three finishers in each event advance to compete at the CIF State Track & Field Championships on June 3-4 at Buchanan High School in Clovis.
Participating athletes included El Molino’s Brian Schulz, Aubrianna Tail (300 intermediate hurdles), and Emma Cilley (discus), while Analy qualified middle distance runner Ross Simmons (400 meters).
Schulz narrowly missed a state bid in the 3,200 meter finals, finishing a close up fourth overall in a sizzling 9:20.84. Also turning in strong efforts were Tait (14th place, 46.92) and Cilley (13th place, 107’ 6”).
