Whatever caused the deadly house fire on Fredericks Road last
Saturday is considered to be non-suspicious but is still under
investigation, according to Sonoma County Sheriff’s
investigators.
Officials said a victim found dead in the charred home was
identified as 50-year-old Bradford Joseph Kolbach. Results of an
autopsy have yet to be released.
Investigators said Kolbach was found inside the home on
Fredericks Road near Lone Pine Road by fire fighters from the Gold
Ridge Fire District as they were called to the fire at about 10:50
p.m.
Kolbach was already deceased when found, investigators said.
They also said a dog was also found dead in the home.
A Gold Ridge spokesman said the house was engulfed in flame with
the back windows blowing out when the fire engines arrived at the
scene.
Firefighters were advised by local residents someone could be
inside and so entered the burning structure for a possible rescue.
They found Kolbach dead in a not yet burned room.
Officials said the home, which was destroyed, was a loss of from
$300,000 to $400,000.
