The Sonoma County Seminoles 18-under baseball squad continued to make noise on the Northern California tournament circuit on Aug. 2-3, hoisting the first-place trophy in San Jose.
The team is comprised of high school aged players entirely from the North Bay, including two from Cloverdale High School.
Representing Cloverdale on the 13-man roster are Chris Harms and Pat Thompson-Ojeda.
Also on the roster are Rickey Christensen (Ukiah) Dylan Currin (Santa Rosa), Oscar Urbina (Rohnert Park), Jaymin Graveman (Rohnert Park), Keenan McKenna (Windsor), Tanner Kane (Windsor), Sam Penning (Windsor), Travis Broadhead (Windsor), Jevin Barry (Windsor), Ethan Wright (Windsor) and Toli Partida (Windsor).
The Seminoles are led by manager Jason Wright and coach Rick Kane.
The team has logged a busy summer on the diamond competing in tournaments that have also included Reno, Sacramento and Santa Rosa, with a few games being played in Windsor.
Last weekend, the Seminoles played a total of five games in two days, highlighted by a 6-0 shutout win over the number-one ranked team in the championship game on Sunday night. The Noles were the only squad to win all five of its games.
Tanner Kane and Dylan Currin were named Co-Most Valuable Players of the tournament.
More accolades for Harms
The post-season awards keep coming for Cloverdale’s Chris Harms, who was recently named to the Cal-Hi second-team All-State squad. Harms was a first-team All-League selection following a stellar junior campaign.
