Collard a fast freshman.
The Cloverdale High School cross country team traveled to Hayward High School for the CIF North Coast Section meet on Saturday, Nov. 19.
Cloverdale athletes competed against hundreds of other Division 5 (D5) runners early in the day.
Paden Collard was the fastest freshman in D5 and second fastest freshman across all divisions for the day. Collard was the seventh individual in the D5 race (top 5 individuals advance to the CIF State meet).
The day was a success; all athletes gave it their best efforts.
Finn Addison had an exceptionally great day. Addison demonstrated the largest improvement, completing the course at 7:11 mile pace. This pace is over a minute per mile faster than the beginning of the season.
After the meet, the team did a quick shake out run across the Golden Gate Bridge. The team was cheerful despite the wet, windy weather. It was the perfect conclusion to a successful season.
Coach Leanne Fogg said: “We are excited to see what these athletes have ahead in the future. A special thank you goes out to Wendy Conner, Preston Addison, Joanne and Keith Collard, and Julie Lawson for their support throughout the season. The team appreciates all that you do.”
