The Cloverdale High School tennis team captured the NCL 1 championship this month, finishing league play with a record of 7-1.
The Eagle’s lone loss of the season came early on against eventual second-place finisher St. Helena, but Cloverdale avenged the loss when the teams met for the second time in April.
The team, led by coaches Jonni Conway and Egon Teodorson, featured senior number one singles player Luke Pope, with juniors Everett Conway and Derick Rilea posting 7-1 records at number two and three singles respectively.
The number one doubles tandem consisted of Jordan Persons and Javier Hernandez, while other doubles members included a combination of Emily Krummer, Mikayla Crosby, Kayli Persons and Marina Lopez.
