Cloverdale High School runners took advantage of ideal weather conditions at the North Coast Section Cross-Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 18 in Hayward, signaling the end of the fall campaign.
As always, the NCS meet was held on the 3-mile Hayward High School course, with 10 races contested in five different divisions.
The Cloverdale contingent did not disappoint, turning in an outstanding overall performance in varsity girls and boys Division 5 races.
Leading the charge for the varsity boys was Paden Collard, who finished 15th overall in a fast 16:17. Other top local finishers included Morgan Tucker (130th, 19:21), Everett Conway (141st, 19:42), Finn Addison (167th, 20:35), Joel Mendoza (194th, 22:21) and Tanner Wanke (198th, 22:44).
Top finishers for the varsity girls were Julie Edwards (59th, 21:07), Cristina Cardenas (132nd, 24:26), Grisselle Herrera (135th, 24:35), Eden Winniford (138th, 24:59), Sami Santana (141st, 25:02), Gaby Ganoa (145th, 25:24) and Sophia Witt (161st, 28:19).
