All league – Heading the list of all NCL 1 softball and baseball teams are first team baseball honoree James Wirt and softball MVP Tehya Bird.

The Cloverdale High School softball and baseball programs were well represented last month in NCL 1 all league voting by coaches, a nice finish to a great spring campaign.
Leading the way for the league and North Coast Section Division 5 champion Eagle’s softball team was Most Valuable Player Tehya Bird. The talented sophomore hit .667 with 11 homers, 51 runs scored and 37 runs batted in. On the mound, she compiled a 19-1 record, fanning 136 batters in 118 innings pitched for an earned run average of 1.01.
Also landing on the NCL 1 first team were sophomore catcher Lane Hughes, junior second baseman Heather Sterling and freshman first baseman Vanessa Fisher.
Second team all league honors went to junior third baseman Nicky Martinez, while freshman outfielder Janaye Hammond earned Honorable Mention status.
Eagles baseballers honored
The CHS varsity baseball team also had its share of NCL 1 honorees, led by first team all league senior shortstop James Wirt. The gifted infielder led the Eagles with a .425 batting average and a team-leading 31 hits and three homers.
Earning second team all league honors were junior infielder Drew Edens and junior pitcher Keller Sibert. Senior pitcher/infielder Kamrin Mitchell was named to the Honorable Mention squad.
