Football team takes on Middletown Friday
The varsity football Eagles logged their third straight victory on Oct. 18 with a 28-7 win over host Lower Lake.
The win pushed Cloverdale’s league record to 3-1 and 3-4 overall, moving into a four-way tie for second place in the NCL-1 with St. Helena, Clear Lake and Fort Bragg, just one game back of first-place Middletown. Â
This Friday, Oct. 25 the Eagles will host visiting Middletown in the final home game of the regular season. Kickoff times at Jack Allen Stadium beginning with the JV are 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
After starting the season with four straight losses, the Eagles suddenly find themselves in the title hunt following following successive wins over Kelseyville, Willits and Lower Lake. Cloverdale will finish out the season with arguably the toughest schedule in league with games against Middletown, and on the road at Fort Bragg and St. Helena.
Eagles turn back Trojans
The Eagles busted open a scoreless tie in the second quarter of Friday’s meeting at Lower Lake, scoring a pair of touchdowns to lead 14-0 at the half. The teams would trade touchdowns to give Cloverdale a 21-7 lead at the end of three, and the Eagles iced it with a score in the fourth quarter en route to a 28-7 win (no stats were reported).       Â
