CHS softballer Amy Mora ripped a single in a pre-season game for the Lady Eagles.

Edens fans 13 in dominant pitching effort
The Lady Eagles assumed the role of rude guest on March 18, turning back an over-matched host Calistoga squad in notching a 9-2 varsity softball victory.
The win pushed Cloverdale’s record to 2-0 in the NCL-1 and a perfect 4-0 on the season.
The ladies will begin a busy stretch this week with a Mar. 25 road clash at Clear Lake (4 p.m.), followed by the annual Cloverdale Varsity Invitational Tournament on March 27-28.
The Wildcats were no match for Cloverdale last week, as sophomore ace Teanne Edens throttled the Calistoga line-up with an assortment of pitches and allowed just one earned run en route to a 13 strikeout, three-hit effort. Cloverdale scored at least one run in five of seven innings in coasting to a 9-2 victory.
Pacing the 13-hit Eagles attack were Jordyn Turner (2 for 2, 2 runs, RBI), Monica Lemley (2 for 4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs), Celeste Gastineau (2 for 3, run, RBI), Amy Mora (2 for 4, RBI), Jasmin Orozco (2 for 5, 2 runs), Hailey Donahoo (1 for 3, 2 runs), Rignee DenBeste (1 for 1), and Bailey Creager (1 for 4).
Team notes
The Eagle’s fast start has been no fluke, with the team hitting on all cylinders in the first month of play.
Edens has been nearly unhittable, going 4-0 with a 0.50 earned run average. The second-year ace has logged 28 innings, yielding just two earned runs and five walks while striking out 42 batters in a string of outstanding performances.
Top hitters with a minimum of 12 at-bats are Turner (.692, 9 hits, 6 runs), Lemley (.412 BA, 7 hits, 7 RBIs), Gastineau (.385, 5 hits), Orozco (.375, 6 hits, 8 runs), Mora (.333, 4 hits, and Donahoo (.308, 4 hits).
